Jakob Johns has worked in the cyber security field since 2019. In 2019, they were a Dominion Forensic Engineering and Development Intern II at ManTech, where they conducted malware analysis and reverse engineering. Jakob was also a Dominion Forensic Engineering and Development Intern I at ManTech, where they were exposed to digital forensics, reverse engineering, and scripting with Python. In 2020, they were a Cyber Security Instructor at Empower Group Inc., a Virginia Non-Profit, where they developed and taught core curriculum to high school students. In 2021, they were a Cyber Security Engineer at Blue Cloak LLC, an Enterprise Administrator at Dynamics Edge, an Executive Assistant at CULTIVA Global Solutions, and a Cyber Security Engineer Intern at Sarela Technology Solutions. Additionally, they have been an Adjunct Cybersecurity Instructor at American University since 2020, contracted as an associate professor under their "Professional Cybersecurity Certificate" program.
Jakob Johns is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Cybersecurity Concentration at George Mason University, which they began in 2021. Prior to this, they attended Northern Virginia Community College, where they obtained an Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity in 2020. In 2018, they received a Certificate in Cybersecurity from Academies of Loudoun. Jakob also graduated from Heritage High School in 2020 with an Advanced Studies Diploma in General Studies. In addition to their formal education, Jakob Johns has obtained several certifications, including GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Linux+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Splunk Fundamentals I, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Associate, ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Associate, Python for Data Science, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and CompTIA A+.
