Lucas Sykes has been working in the Human Resources field since 2016. Lucas began their career as a Family Support Worker at Metropolitan Family Services, where they maintained client files, entered client information into information management systems, and documented case notes. In 2018, Sykes became a Human Resources Generalist at Alliance for Audited Media, where they provided support to hiring managers, candidates, and staff in the areas of employment processing, benefits administration, and employee relations. Later that same year, they took on the role of Human Resources Manager at Clyde's Donuts. In 2022, Sykes became the Human Resources Manager at Word On Fire Catholic Ministries.

Lucas Sykes received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion/Religious Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, they have obtained four certifications from LinkedIn, including Customer Service: Serving Internal Customers (September 2018), Creating a Culture of Change (August 2018), Developing Adaptable Employees (August 2018), and Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (August 2018).
