Sebastian Kempengren

Manufacturing Scientist, Early Stage Bioprocess Development at BioInvent International

Sebastian Kempengren has a diverse work experience in the field of life sciences. Sebastian started their career in 2014 as a Research Assistant at Lund University, where they gained expertise in cell culture and molecular biology techniques. Sebastian worked with various types of cell lines and also participated in teaching students.

In 2016, Sebastian joined Phase Holographic Imaging as an Application Tester, focusing on Digital Holographic Microscopy. Sebastian worked with a xyz-controlled M4 holomonitor microscope and conducted experiments with cancer cell lines.

Sebastian's most recent position was at BioInvent International AB, where they held multiple roles starting from 2016. Sebastian started as a Process Engineer in Cell Line Development, where they gained experience in cell culture operations using different cell lines and clean room practices. Sebastian was responsible for managing and executing cultivations in scale-down shaker flask models and 2-scale bioreactors.

Later, Sebastian held the role of Associate Manufacturing Scientist in Process Development, where they contributed to the development of manufacturing processes. Currently, they hold the position of Manufacturing Scientist, focusing on process optimization.

Sebastian Kempengren pursued their education in the field of biology at Lund University. From 2008 to 2012, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology. Subsequently, from 2012 to 2014, they continued their studies at the same university, earning a Master's degree in Medical Biology.
