Kimberly Gibson has over 10 years of work experience in the scientific field. In 2016, they began working as Lead Scientist at BDD Pharma, and was promoted to Senior Formulation Scientist and then Formulation Scientist. From 2012 to 2016, Gibson worked as a Formulation Chemist at Barony Universal Products Plc. In 2011, they completed a Final Year Project at The University of Glasgow, optimising a solid state hydrogen storage system. In 2010, they were an Industrial Placement Chemist at Reckitt Benckiser, working on Nurofen.

Kimberly Gibson attended Saint Mungo's Academy from 2001 to 2007, where they earned an Advanced Higher degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. Kimberly then attended the University of Glasgow from 2007 to 2012, where they earned an MSc in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry.
