Martin Šuňal has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the software engineering and networking fields. Martin is currently working as a Lead Software Architect at Big Network, starting in October 2021. Prior to that, from September 2019 to June 2021, they served as a Product and Engineering Manager at FRINX. Martin also held the position of Technical Leader at FRINX from October 2016 to August 2019.
Before joining FRINX, Martin was involved with the OpenDaylight Project, where they worked as an SXP Committer from March 2016 to June 2021 and as a Group Based Policy (GBP) Committer from May 2015 to June 2021. Additionally, they worked as a Technical Leader at Pantheon Technologies from June 2013 to July 2016.
Earlier in their career, Martin worked as a Java Software Engineer as a freelancer from December 2012 to July 2014. Martin also worked as a Java Developer at eNnova s.r.o. from March 2012 to June 2013.
Martin's work experience dates back to their time at the Internet Klub at the University of Žilina, where they served as a Network Administrator from 2008 to 2013.
Martin Šuňal obtained a Master's degree in Information Systems with a focus on Information-Communication Networks from the University of Zilina. In addition to their degree, they also hold several certifications from Cisco, including Cisco Certified Network Associate. Martin completed various courses related to networking and troubleshooting IP networks, building scalable internetworks, implementing secured converged wide-area networks, and building multilayer switched networks, all at the Cisco Networking Academy at the University of Žilina.
