Kara Stimpson

Kara Stimpson is the Chief Impact Officer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. Kara has dedicated their career to education, with a focus on helping students in underserved communities.

Stimpson began their career as a teacher in Durham, North Carolina. Kara then moved to Wake County, where they taught for four years before becoming a Dean and Director of Studies at Atlanta Girls' School. In 2011, they became Principal of an Atlanta Public School, where they led a turnaround effort for two years.

In 2013, Stimpson joined Achievement Network (ANet) as the Managing Director of School System Coaching Strategy. In this role, they worked with school districts across the country to improve student outcomes. Kara served in this role for two years before returning to Atlanta to join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.

Kara Stimpson has a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Kennesaw State University, and is currently working on their Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Georgia State University.

They are on a team with Maria Elena Miller - Director of Individual Giving, Harold Mizell - VP of Information Technology & Facilities, and Kelci Sleeper - Senior Marketing & Communications Manager. Some individuals on their team include Natalie Mundy - Senior Director of Program Services, Upenda Dubose - Director of Corporate & Community Engagement, and Hannah Smith - Program Specialist.
