Sahana Mallappa is a Senior Data Scientist at Bidgely since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Data Scientist at Bidgely from October 2020 to January 2023. Sahana was responsible for developing statistical and machine learning algorithms for disaggregating AMI data, detecting behavior patterns, and estimating household appliance consumption. This involved serving a customer base of 24+ million homes and 30+ utilities worldwide.

Before joining Bidgely, Sahana worked as a Data Scientist at Actyv from June 2020 to October 2020, where they gained experience in the field. Sahana also worked as a Data Science Intern at Actyv from January 2020 to May 2020.

Prior to their roles at Bidgely and Actyv, Sahana worked as a Software Engineer Intern at SHABDKOSH from May 2019 to July 2019. Sahana focused on natural language processing tasks and made significant contributions such as developing a Stemmer and Inflections generator for the Kannada language using Python. Sahana also built an Alexa skill using serverless-based AWS lambda function, enhancing the diversity of SHABDKOSH's product.

Sahana's earliest work experience was as an Android Developer Intern at nanoPix ISS (P) Ltd. from February 2018 to June 2018.

Sahana Mallappa completed their schooling at St Marys Convent from 2004 to 2014, where they studied subjects such as Social Sciences, Physics, Maths, and Biology. Following that, they pursued a Pre-University degree at Alva's College of Education from 2014 to 2016, specializing in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology. Sahana then attended the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad from 2016 to 2020, earning a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, Sahana has obtained several certifications. Sahana completed courses such as "Deep Reinforcement learning 2.0," "Machine learning, Data Science & Deep learning with Python," "Statistics for Data Science and Business Analysis," "Deep Learning and Computer Vision A-Z: OpenCV, SSD & GANs," "The Complete Self-Driving Car Course - Applied Deep Learning," "The Data Scientist's Toolbox," "Blockchain Essentials," and "Intro to Python for Data Science Course." These certifications were obtained from institutions such as Udemy, Coursera, IBM, and DataCamp, with completion dates ranging from 2018 to 2020.
