Shanna Vataj began their work experience in 2013 as a Special Education Teacher at Small Steps, where they co-taught a classroom of students and individually taught another group in the afternoon. Shanna focused on developing age-appropriate activities and lesson plans tailored to each student's goals. In 2014, they joined Metro Empire Realty as a Realtor, specializing in residential and commercial investment properties in Mid-Westchester County. Shanna was an active member of various realtor associations and had a deluxe subscription to Loopnet. In 2015, Shanna Vataj became the Director of Education at BHGRE | Shore & Country Properties, specializing in residential and investment properties in Westchester County and Fairfield County. Shanna was a member of multiple realtor associations and MLS platforms, as well as active in online communities such as Bigger Pockets and CREXI. Additionally, in 2012, they worked as an Assistant Property Manager at Greenwich Riverview LLC.

Shanna Vataj earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science/Education from Mercy University from 2007 to 2011. Then, from 2011 to 2012, they pursued a Graduate degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from the same university.
