Samantha Burrell

Scientific Solutions Consultant at Benchling

Samantha Burrell, Ph.D., currently serves as a Scientific Solutions Consultant at Benchling since July 2022. Prior experience includes an Agronomist role at Koidra, where responsibilities involved leading grant applications and creating scientific marketing content. As a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Florida, research focused on Downy Mildew Resistance in UF Sweet Basil. Burrell also held the position of Executive Director for the Collegiate Plant Initiative, advocating for student engagement in the green industry, and co-founded the "Growing Under the Rainbow" Outreach Program, enhancing plant biotechnology education for over 1,100 students in Florida. Earlier roles at Florida Southern College included SGA Academic Vice President and various positions in the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority. Education includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Florida and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Florida Southern College.
