Tanya Halkyard True has over fifteen years of work experience. In 2004, they began working as a Catering Assistant at Hyatt Regency. In 2009, they worked as a Teacher at British Institutes. In 2010, they worked as a Teacher at Morgan School. In 2011, they became the Director of Global Institutes, where they founded an English Language school with approximately 1,000 students to date. In 2016, they founded American Expats for Positive Change and in 2017, they became a Co-Leader of Woman's March Rome, Italy. In 2020, they worked as a Teacher at Outschool and in 2021, they became a Virtual Assistant at BELAY, where they handled tasks for a multi-unit franchise of Culver's restaurants. Currently, they are a Digital Marketing Accounts Manager at Becker.

Tanya Halkyard True obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, General from Indiana University Bloomington between 1999 and 2003. Tanya then went on to obtain a CELTA in English Language Teaching from Cambridge University in 2008. In November 2022, they obtained a Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate from Coursera in the field of Marketing.
