Nicholas Xydes has extensive work experience in the field of robotics, spanning over a decade. Nicholas started their career as an intern at the Commercial Spaceflight Federation in 2011, where they gained initial exposure to the industry. In 2012, they worked as a Student Researcher at the Robotic Systems Laboratory.
In 2013, Nicholas had several roles, including a Product Design Internship at Amazon Lab126 and a Teaching Assistant position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Santa Clara University. Nicholas also served as a Supervisor at the SCU Makerlab during this time.
Starting in 2014, Nicholas joined the SCU Robotic Systems Lab as a Research Assistant, focusing on Robotics and Satellite Operations. In 2015, they transitioned to Knightscope, an autonomous security robot company, where they worked as a Robotics Engineer and later as a Senior Robotics Engineer until 2019.
From 2019 onwards, Nicholas joined Bear Flag Robotics and held various positions. Nicholas initially worked as a Robotics Engineer, contributing to the development of autonomous farm equipment. Nicholas then progressed to the role of Senior Robotics Engineer, where they played a more senior role in the team. Currently, Nicholas serves as the Senior Manager of Robotics, overseeing the robotics department at Bear Flag Robotics.
Throughout their career, Nicholas has demonstrated a strong commitment to the field of robotics, gaining experience in both research and industry settings.
Nicholas Xydes attended Bellarmine College Preparatory from 2005 to 2009 for their high school education. After that, they enrolled at Santa Clara University from 2009 to 2013 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In June 2013, Nicholas obtained an additional certification as an Engineer in Training from NCEES. Nicholas further pursued their education at Santa Clara University and completed a Master of Science degree in Robotics and Mechatronics from 2012 to 2015.
