Gijs Heikamp has a diverse work experience. Gijs started their career as an Administrative employee at Eiffel in 2005. Later, they interned at Nyenburgh Holding B.V., where they wrote their master thesis. Gijs then worked at Deloitte Consulting as a Business Analyst, Consultant, and eventually as a Senior Consultant from 2011 to 2018. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at VodafoneZiggo, first as a Business Controller for Fixed Marketing and later as a Senior Business Controller. Currently, they are working at Barentz as a Finance Lead for the Pharma & Personal Care Division starting in 2023. Gijs holds a Master's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Financial Management from the University of Twente.

Gijs Heikamp has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Twente, which they obtained in 2010. Prior to that, they completed their VWO (pre-university education) at CC De Noordgouw in 2001. In 2005, they attended Tilburg University and studied Fiscal Law. Gijs pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration at the University of Twente from 2009 to 2010. From 2014 to 2018, Gijs Heikamp attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) and earned their Executive Master's degree in Finance & Control, specializing in Register Controller.
