Melissa Bowman has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. Melissa began as a Cashier at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. in 2012, and then joined the US Navy as an Enlisted: Gas Turbine Electrical Technical (GSE) in 2013. In 2015, they began working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Bergen Community College. In 2016, they became a Payroll Administrator at Pavelec Brothers Golf Course Construction, Inc., where they were responsible for organizing the weekly payroll, depositing collected revenue, and collecting site blueprints. In 2017, they took a role as an Art Instructor at Pinot's Palette. In 2018, they returned to academia as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. In 2019, they began working as a Service Engineer at EAG Laboratories | A Eurofins Company, where they maintained material characteristic equipment, administered careful construction and cleaning of condenser lens elements, designed pump arrangements to achieve ultra high vacuum, managed production of UHV and material characteristic equipment elements, and wrote safety procedures. In 2021, they have taken on two roles, as a Researcher at BallotReady and a Data Specialist at Guts + Data.

Melissa Bowman began their educational journey at Parsons School of Design - The New School, where they earned an Associate of Arts - AA in Industrial and Product Design between 2010 and 2013. Melissa then attended Bergen Community College and obtained an Associate of Science - AS in Engineering Science between 2015 and 2017. Melissa went on to Rutgers University-New Brunswick, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Physics in 2019. In 2020 and 2021, Melissa attended Code with Mosh, a coding bootcamp, where they studied SQL. Currently, Melissa is enrolled at CUNY School of Professional Studies, where they are pursuing a Master of Science - MS in Data Science.
