Stephen Iadarola has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Beginning in 2000, they worked as a Research Intern at Albany International Research Company and later as a Research Intern at Boston Scientific Corporation in 2001. In 2002, they served as a Research Assistant at UMass Lowell - Center for Advanced Materials.
Stephen then transitioned to Aspen Aerogels in 2004, where they held various roles over the course of 17 years. Stephen started as a Process Engineer II, responsible for implementing process design changes and capital projects to improve safety, asset utilization, and process optimization. During their time in this role, they accomplished a full redesign of a manufacturing process and the plant's process safety valve program and equipment.
Stephen was promoted to Senior Process Engineer, where they managed over 30 projects and executed consecutive capital expansion efforts, doubling production capacity. Stephen then became a Lead Process Engineer, leading a capital expansion project that exceeded startup goals. Additionally, they collaborated with senior management to develop strategic capital plans.
Later, Stephen took on the role of Plant II Engineering Manager, successfully completing the concept and preliminary design phases of a $100MM greenfield capital expansion and fence-line supply project. As the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, they led a cross-functional operations team in the implementation of a critical chemistry change, resulting in significant expected savings.
Their most recent position is Director of Operations at Bake'n Joy Foods, Inc. starting in May 2021.
Stephen Iadarola earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Stephen then went on to pursue further education at the same university, completing their Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from 2001 to 2003.
