Ian Anderson is a highly experienced machine learning engineer currently serving as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Spotify since November 2015. Prior roles at Spotify include Senior Machine Learning Engineer and Senior Research Scientist, among others. In addition to work at Spotify, Ian participates as a volunteer with Tech for Campaigns and holds the title of Corporate Overlord at Bad Idea Factory. Previous experience includes a significant tenure at Johns Hopkins University, where Ian functioned as a Graduate Research Assistant, contributing to the discovery of the Higgs boson, and as a Teaching Assistant, acquiring 14 semesters of teaching experience. Ian also led Monte Carlo Simulation efforts for the Large Hadron Collider and served as an instructor at the CMS Data Analysis School. Ian holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Physics from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
