Christopher Opat is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in cloud operations and engineering. Currently serving as SVP of Cloud Operations at Backblaze since August 2023, Opat previously held leadership roles including SVP of Platform Operations and Engineering at StackPath and Global Head of Cloud Operations at Cloudreach. A proven track record in the industry began with significant positions at CompuCom as Head of Cloud Technology, CyrusOne as Vice President of Critical Infrastructure Services, and JPMorgan as Vice President. Opat also served as Chief Technology Officer at EMC Mortgage and Managing Director at Bear Stearns. An early career at Tosco Corporation as an Infrastructure Engineer laid the groundwork for a successful trajectory in technology management, supported by a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College.
