Katya Mendoza is a multimedia journalist with a strong background in reporting and storytelling across various platforms. Currently employed at Arizona Public Media since February 2023, Mendoza previously served as a staff reporter and photographer for Tucson Local Media, where in-depth features focused on environmental issues and local cultural narratives were developed. Prior experience includes an apprenticeship at the Arizona Daily Star, where analytical support on complex topics was provided, and internships at Tucson Local Media and TucsonSentinel.com, where notable work earned Mendoza a first-place environmental journalism award.
