Emmanuel Akpakwu is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Axmed, a position held since May 2024. Previously, Emmanuel served as the VP and Chief Commercial Officer for Novartis across the Sub-Saharan Africa region from January 2019 to April 2024, where responsibilities included leading commercial strategy and executing initiatives in marketing, patient access, and supply chain management. Emmanuel also held the role of Director of Corporate Strategy at Novartis, facilitating annual strategic planning and co-leading the pharmaceutical industry's first Sustainability-Linked Bond issuance. Prior experience includes serving as Head of Practice for Value Based Healthcare at the World Economic Forum and Associate Director of Corporate Strategy at Merck Group, along with a notable tenure at J.P. Morgan. The educational background features a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Hertfordshire.
