Valerie Castillo (Yrigolla), SHRM-CP, is a seasoned recruitment professional with extensive experience in talent acquisition and employer branding. Currently serving as a Sr. Recruiter for the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy since October 2022, Valerie is responsible for staffing at NSF-funded centers, including NOIRLab and the National Solar Observatory. Prior roles include Enterprise Brand Strategist at Fairygodboss, Program Manager for Employer Brand and Social Media and Talent Advisor at Charles Schwab, as well as positions at Human Resources International, DriveTime, and Apollo Education Group. Valerie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Mexican American Studies from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix.
