Brooks Rawlins has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. From 1996 to 2007, they worked as a Film Archivist and Graphic Designer for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. After that, from 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Textile and Surface Designer at Lisa Miller & Co, where they focused on custom wallpaper, printed fabric, and rug collections. Following this, Rawlins joined Bliss Studio in 2008 as a Product/Textile Designer, and then in 2012, they became the Director of Design at Arden Companies, where they led product development and design for Bombay Outdoors, specializing in outdoor furniture, accessories, and pillows.
Brooks Rawlins began their education journey at the University of Michigan from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a focus on Humanities/Humanistic Studies. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Southern California, attending from 1989 to 1992. Here, they earned another Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, specializing in Cinema-Television. Lastly, in 2006, Rawlins attended FIDM for a year, completing an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Textile/Surface Design.
