Marian Orlousky is an experienced professional in the fields of ecology and natural resource management, currently serving as the Director of Science & Stewardship at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy since April 2012. In this role, Marian collaborates with partner organizations to enhance the use of scientific research in the conservation of Appalachian Trail resources, focusing on biodiversity hotspots, wildlife corridors, and climate change refugia. Previous positions include Acting Vice President of Conservation and Policy and Northern Natural Resource Manager, where efforts were directed toward habitat restoration, invasive species management, and citizen science initiatives. Marian also worked as a Natural Resource Specialist at Valley Forge National Historical Park and as a West Nile Virus Technician for Cumberland Valley Vector Control. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Ecology/Natural Resource Management from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Juniata College.
