Alun Thomas has extensive experience as an Employment Lawyer and Mediator, starting with a tenure at Anderson Strathern since September 1980, where Alun provides employment law advice to both employers and employees and leads the firm's Education Group, advising higher education institutions. Currently, Alun serves as an Employment Lawyer and Mediator at The Path Between Ltd since November 2023. Additionally, Alun holds significant roles in mediation and governance, including Chair of Scottish Mediation since November 2012, Board Member of Bridges Project (Scotland) since 2001 and New Media Scotland since 2004, and Committee Member of the Scottish Discrimination Law Association since 1998. Alun completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Edinburgh from 1976 to 1980 and attended George Heriots School.
