Angel M. Royal, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Angel M. started their career as a Financial Aid Counselor at Baton Rouge Community College in 1998 and also worked as an Adjunct Instructor there. In 1999, they joined Louisiana Board of Regents as a Special Programs Manager, overseeing two programs funded by the Louisiana Legislature. Angel M. then joined Louisiana Community and Technical College System as a Vice President for External Affairs and Executive Assistant to the President. In 2004, they worked at Best Associates as the Director of Special Programs and Initiatives, where they oversaw short-term projects. From 2005 to 2010, they worked as a Consultant at WB & Associates. In 2007, they joined the University of Texas at Austin as an Executive Director for the UT Outreach Center - Dallas. Lastly, they joined the American Association of Community Colleges in 2011 in the role of Chief of Staff and later became the Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.
Angel M. Royal, Ph.D. has a diverse educational background. They obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University. Following this, they pursued higher studies at the same institution and obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction. They further continued their education at Louisiana State University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to their doctoral degree, Angel M. Royal also obtained an Ed.S. degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University.
Besides their academic achievements, Angel M. Royal has also completed the certification of "Pandemic Compliance Advisor for Meetings and Events Professionals" through Health Education Services in May 2021.
