José I. Gutiérrez has had extensive experience in business development and leadership roles in the engineering and acquisition industry. José I. currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for Business Development at Valkyrie Enterprises since February 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Business Development, Naval Shipboard Readiness at Amentum from February 2020. José I. also served as the Vice President of Sustainment, Engineering and Acquisition at AECOM/URS/EG&G in February 2020, and previously at AECOM from August 2017 to January 2020.

José I. Gutiérrez earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University from 1979 to 1984. José I. then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Averett University Graduate & Professional Studies between 1986 and 1988. Prior to their university education, José obtained a High School Diploma from Colegio San Jose High School in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, from 1976 to 1979.
