Leo Gorodinski is the Chief Technology Officer at Alvys, a position they have held since 2019. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Engineering at Jet from August 2013 to January 2019.
At Jet, Leo was responsible for designing a simple payment platform to be used by small to medium size businesses of various sorts to accept payments from their clients. The platform was initially hosted on Windows Azure followed by a switch to AWS to address PCI requirements. In addition to product development, Leo's central responsibility was software design and implementation. The platform consisted of a front end portal for merchants and their clients to manage their account and make payments, review transactions, etc. The design was simple but functional and aesthetic. Also, the platform contained an administrative back-end to be used in licensing scenarios. The payment system supported integrations with payment gateways of various sorts.
A Domain-Driven Design approach was employed to distill and implement the domain model. This resulted in a flexible, easy to manage and extend system. An Agile development methodology together with a distributed version control workflow provided for efficient remote developer collaboration across the country.
Under Leo's leadership, the platform was successfully launched and gained widespread adoption by small businesses. Leo's experience and expertise in software development and design have been instrumental in Alvys' success.
Leo Gorodinski attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where they earned a BS in mathematics. Leo then attended Caltech, where they studied mathematics. Finally, they attended Smoky Hill High School.
