Jon Valgeirsson has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Jon started their career as a Ph.D. Student at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, where they worked from 2000 to 2003. Valgeirsson then joined Actavis in 2003 as a member of the API R&D team, and later became the VP of R&D Iceland from 2008 to 2014. Jon then moved on to Alvogen, where they served as the VP of R&D APAC from 2014 to 2017. Currently, Valgeirsson holds the position of Vice President of Analytical Research and Development at Alvotech, a role they took on in 2018. Throughout their career, Valgeirsson has held various leadership positions and has gained expertise in analytical method development, emerging technologies, and research and development within the pharmaceutical industry.
Jon Valgeirsson earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Prior to this, they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Háskóli Íslands from 1994 to 1999. In 2006, Jon also obtained a certification as a European Patent attourney from the European Patent Office.
