Oscar Smit is a seasoned freelance music journalist with a career spanning from 1980 to the present, contributing to renowned publications such as Jazz Bulletin, GONZO Circus, OOR, and others. Smit is also an author of "De Paradiso Punkjaren," a five-part series documenting the evolution of punk music in Paradiso, and has been involved with the Dutch Jazz Archive and various freelance projects. In addition, Smit serves as a DJ at parties and clubs since 1980 and hosts a weekly internet radio show. Recent projects include working in PR for blues guitarist Johnny Laporte and coordinating public relations for Genetic Choir's events. Smit holds a degree in Social Geography from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
