Jari Mäkelä has an extensive work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. In 1995, they worked as a Software Developer at AvantComp Oy, where they played a crucial role in developing the first Finnish automated online store and the first straight-through processing online stock brokerage, eQ Online. In 1998, they briefly worked as a Consultant at Terra Nova Visuals Oy. From 1999 to 2002, they served as a Partner at APC Attoparsek Oy. In 2002, they joined SysOpen Digia Plc as a Senior Consultant. In 2005, they transitioned to Reaktor Innovations, where they held the positions of Chief Architect and Principal Consultant. Jari'swork mainly focused on technology, business, and uncovering value. Finally, Jari Mäkelä is currently employed as the Head of Engineering at Albertine, starting in 2021.

Jari Mäkelä attended Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan from 1989 to 1999. However, they dropped out of the institution and did not obtain a degree. Jari'sfield of study was Theory of Computing.
