Shahira Amin is an accomplished journalist and analyst with extensive experience covering developments in Egypt, particularly regarding human rights, women's issues, and religious freedoms. Since February 2011, Shahira has contributed to Index on Censorship, serves as a Non-resident Fellow at The Atlantic Council, and provides insights for Al-Monitor. Shahira's freelance work includes roles as a journalist, filmmaker, and copy editor. Prior to this, Shahira contributed to CNN Inside Africa and held the position of Deputy Head at Nile TV International. Shahira holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The American University in Cairo and is pursuing further education in journalism.
