Mohammad Mavadati, PhD has worked in various roles related to computer vision, machine learning, and electrical engineering since 2005. From 2005-2006 they were an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer Intern at Sazeh Consultants Engineering and Construction Co. and an Electrical Engineering Intern at Saipa Co. in 2006. In 2006, they also had an Internship at Bistoon Petrochemical Complex. From 2010-2014, they were a Research at Computer Vision Lab, Electrical and Computer Eng. at the University of Denver, where they authored 11 technical papers and published a novel publicly available database (DISFA) on facial expression analysis. From 2014-2015, they were a Computer Vision and Machine Learning Intern at TKO. From 2015-2021, they were a Lead Computer Vision Scientist at Affectiva, where they prioritized R&D Computer Vision initiatives, explored, designed and developed new modeling techniques for emotion modeling and annotations, and guided, planned and prioritized the facial annotation initiative. In 2021, they became a Lead Computer Vision Scientist at Smart Eye, where they are currently hiring for several exciting positions.
Mohammad Mavadati, PhD obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Denver in 2015. Prior to this, they obtained their M.Sc. in Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering from Yazd University in 2010. Mohammad also obtained their B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shahrood University of Technology in 2007. Additionally, they are LICENCED in Facial Action Coding System (FACS) from the Paul Ekman Group (PEG).
