Dave Royer is an experienced aerospace engineer specializing in guidance, navigation, and controls (GNC) systems. Currently serving as Principal GNC Engineer for Novel Systems at AeroVironment since May 2020, Dave leads GNC engineering for novel Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) development. Prior to this role, Dave held positions such as Director of Engineering at Ainstein, overseeing engineering operations and product development, and Control Systems Engineering Lead, where responsibilities included managing control systems development for various products. With a solid foundation in flight controls from roles at Aerotenna and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Dave has demonstrated proficiency in software development, budget management, and team leadership, complemented by a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Kansas.
