Jouko Salo began their work experience in 2010 as an Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company. Jouko then joined the Student Union of the University of Turku as a Member of Board in 2008. In 2011, they became a Member of the Board of Directors at Auramarine Ltd, a market leader in auxiliary unit production for marine engines. Jouko later worked as a Nuclear Safety Engineer at Teollisuuden Voima Oy from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, Jouko took on multiple roles at Auramarine Ltd, including Sales Manager, General Manager in Ballast Water Treatment, and Chief Technology Officer.
