Turgay Senlet, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of research and technology. Turgay is currently working as the Senior Head of Research and Technology at Aemass, Inc. since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Google from October 2014 to October 2022.

Turgay also has experience in academia, having worked at Rutgers University. Turgay was a PhD student at the Department of Computer Science from September 2009 to April 2015. During this time, they also served as a Teaching Assistant, where they were responsible for instructing part of the CS334 Introduction to Imaging and Multimedia course, designing student projects, grading assignments, and teaching recitations.

In addition to their academic and industry experience, Turgay Senlet has held various research intern positions. Turgay was a Research Intern at Google in 2013, working on SWE (Software Engineer) research projects. In 2012, they worked as a Research Intern in the Self-Driving Car Project at Google. Prior to Google, they were a Research Intern in the 2D to 3D Video Conversion Project at Technicolor Corporate Research in 2010.

Before their academic pursuits, Turgay started their career at Aselsan, where they held the position of Senior Software Engineer from June 2002 to August 2009. Their responsibilities at Aselsan included developing coding standards, integrating software projects, designing computer vision algorithms, and creating modular target tracking architectures. Turgay also developed a real-time 3D visual simulation environment for target tracking application.

Turgay Senlet began their professional journey as an Intern Engineer at Aselsan in 1999 and 2000.

Turgay Senlet, PhD pursued their education in a systematic manner, specializing in various fields. Turgay started their academic journey at Orta DoÄŸu Teknik Ãœniversitesi (Middle East Technical University) from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Subsequently, from 1999 to 2003, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics at the same institution. Following their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at Middle East Technical University and completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2003 to 2006. Displaying a passion for learning, Turgay Senlet then went on to attend Rutgers University from 2009 to 2015, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science.
