Seamas Weech is a Research Scientist at Sony since January 2024, specializing in biomedical engineering and brain-computer interfaces. Prior to this position, Seamas served as a Staff Scientist at VPixx Technologies Inc. from February 2023 to November 2023, focusing on vision science solutions for research applications. An earlier role as a Research Scientist at Serious Labs Inc. from December 2021 to January 2023 involved research and data science related to human-machine interactions, including serving as the principal investigator on collaborative user research studies. Seamas has a rich academic background, holding a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University from September 2019 to November 2021, studying human perception and virtual reality, and has also been involved in motion sickness research at the University of Waterloo as a postdoctoral researcher from July 2017 to June 2019. Additional experiences include consulting for Huawei Technologies, teaching and research roles at Queen's University, and a research scholarship at Queen's University Belfast. Seamas holds a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience and has multiple degrees in psychology from renowned institutions.
