Nazar Zaidi is senior vice president of Cores, Server SoC Systems IP Engineering, Technology and Engineering at AMD. He is responsible for AMD’s CPU core strategy, all server CPU and IO System on a Chip (Soc) chiplet architecture and implementation, and CPU SW development tool chain including compilers, profilers, libraries, and global silicon debug tools.
Since joining AMD in January 2016, Zaidi has successfully guided the delivery of AMD’s award-winning multi-generational “Zen” x86 CPU family.
Throughout his nearly 30-year career, Zaidi has co-founded two companies – Raza Microelectronics and Nexsi Systems – and has held leadership roles at Broadcom, Netlogic and RMI overseeing development of industry leading multi-core products. At the time of his departure from Broadcom in 2015, he managed the development of Vulcan, the industry’s highest performance 32-core ARM64 SoC targeting information infrastructure and enterprise applications. Prior to these roles, he spent the first 9 years of his career at Intel.
Zaidi holds 46 patents in high-performance processor design and has been published numerous times at various conferences. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in electrical engineering.
