Mayra Valadez currently serves as a Commissioner at the Los Angeles Public Library since April 2024 and is a Senior Associate at Actum since February 2022. Prior experience includes roles as the Western Regional Redistricting Coordinator at MALDEF from June 2021 to February 2022, Field Manager at DCCC from June 2020 to November 2020, and Field Representative for the California State Assembly from August 2018 to June 2020. Mayra Valadez also held leadership positions such as Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion at Cornell Student Assembly and President of the Cornell First-Generation Student Union from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, Mayra Valadez interned at the U.S. House of Representatives in 2017 and worked as a First Generation Student Liaison at Cornell Student Assembly from September 2016 to June 2017. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University (2014-2018) and a High School Diploma from San Fernando High School (2010-2014).
