Rejwan Karim

Director, Community Programs And Partnership Development at Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services

Rejwan Karim has a diverse range of work experience in the non-profit sector. From 2002 to 2008, Karim served as a Program Manager for Food Security at Helen Keller International, managing a national-scale project in rural Bangladesh and securing significant funding. Karim developed project proposals, oversaw a team, and maintained partnerships with community organizations.

In 2009, Karim worked as a Research Associate at United Way Toronto & York Region. Karim then joined Helen Keller International again in 2010 as a Consultant, focusing on food security for orphan and vulnerable children in Tanzania.

From 2010 to 2012, Karim worked at Agincourt Community Services Association, first as a Partnership Development Coordinator for the Local Immigration Partnership and then as a Project Coordinator for the Action for Neighbourhood Change project. In these roles, Karim coordinated community development initiatives, engaged stakeholders, and supported residents in developing plans and securing funding.

Karim then moved to Neighbourhood Centre in 2012, where they held roles as Manager of Operations and Community Services and later as Interim Executive Director. In these positions, Karim oversaw administrative operations, managed staff and resources, developed policies, and facilitated financial audits and reports.

Finally, since January 2017, Karim has been working at Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services. They started as a Program and Hub Manager at the AccessPoint on Danforth Hub and are currently serving as the Director of Community Programs and Partnership Development. In these roles, Karim has been involved in managing programs, developing partnerships, and overseeing community initiatives.

Rejwan Karim completed a Post Graduation degree in International Development from Humber College in 2010. They later pursued a MA degree in Adult Education and Community Development from St. Francis Xavier University from 2017 to 2020.
