Salvatore De Santis has a long and varied work experience. Salvatore began their career in 1996 as a Machinest Mate 3rd Class in the US Navy, where they operated, repaired, and conducted maintenance on marine type combustion boilers, main propulsion turbines, reduction gears, and associated auxiliary equipment. From 1999 to 2000, they worked as a Mechanical/Electrical Technician at Varian Semiconductor, where they assembled, tested, and trouble shot medium current ion implanters to the standards of customers' needs. From 2000 to 2005, they worked as a Senior Mech. Tech at Harvard University, where they performed a variety of complex assemblies and testing duties of electrical and mechanical equipment in research facilities. From 2005 to 2008, they worked as a Research and Developement Technician at Entegris, where they assembled and tested prototype mechanical and electrical systems and sub components for future products. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as an Electro-Mechanical Technician at Beacon Power LLC, where they implemented new standards in the operations, testing and maintenance of energy storage units. From 2011 to 2014, they worked as a Mechnical Technician at Sun Catalytix, where they performed assembly and testing of prototype flow battery systems and auxiliary equipment for product development. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as a Senior Technical Specialist at Lockheed Martin Advanced Energy Storage, where they worked with the system engineering team to develop, assemble, maintain, and operate test stands and equipment used to validate flow batteries. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Lead Operations Technician, Lead Furnace Technican, and Technical Lead at Desktop Metal. Most recently, they have been working as a Technical Lead at 6K since 2022.
Salvatore De Santis is currently enrolled at North Shore Community College. Additionally, they obtained an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from McNeilly EMS Educators in March 2020.
