John Enfield has a long and distinguished work experience in the military. Starting in 2002, they were the Department Head for VFA-27. In 2006, they moved to US FIFTH Fleet as an Operational Planner. In 2008, they were the Commanding Officer for VFA-192. From 2009 to 2012, they were the Chief, Program Integration for US Strategic Command. In 2013, they became the Deputy Commander for Carrier Air Wing 5. In 2015, they were the Commander for CVW-5. In 2017, they were the Director of Training and Director of Training Systems for the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC). Most recently, they have been a Senior Warfare Analyst for 2 Circle Consulting, Inc. since 2019.

John Enfield obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Political Science from the United States Naval Academy from 1987 to 1991. John later obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College from 2005 to 2006.
