Gus McAskill has worked in the field of photography since 1980, when they began as a Darkroom Technician for Grampian Police. In 1985, they were promoted to Senior Forensic Photographer, where they were responsible for photography and video capture at major crime scenes, offshore incidents, industrial accidents, and public relation events. During their time at Grampian Police, they also managed and purchased photographic materials, trained officers and civilian staff in photographic techniques, and presented evidence in Sheriff and High Courts as an Expert witness.
In 2006, McAskill joined R2S as an Operations Manager and Photographic Survey Manager. In this role, they were responsible for recruitment of new staff, HR and welfare procedures, yearly reviews of staff performance, and project management, quality assurance, and building of R2S projects for clients. Gus also developed the R2S spherical photographic process from infancy.
McAskill has been with ZynQ 360 Limited since 2016, where they are currently a Project/Account Manager. Gus'sfocus is on company growth and customer satisfaction globally, and their values include respect, loyalty, passion, care and self-belief in what they do for others.
Gus McAskill attended Cults Academy from 1976 to 1980. Gus then attended Aberdeen School of Art from 1985 to 1987, where they earned an HNC in Photography. In 1989, they obtained an ABIPP from the British Institute of Professional Photography. In June 2016, they obtained an Offshore Medical Certificate.
