Marc Wimmershoff is a distinguished expert in the field of autonomy software, currently serving as Vice President of Autonomy Software at Zoox since April 2022. Wimmershoff boasts extensive experience in leading engineering teams and initiatives within notable organizations including Waymo and Tesla Motors. At Waymo, Wimmershoff held the position of Director of Software Engineering, focusing on the challenges of urban and highway autonomous driving, while at Zoox, Wimmershoff successfully scaled the planning and control stack and expanded the engineering team. Previous roles include Senior Staff Engineer at the Electronics Research Laboratory of Volkswagen Group of America and Team Lead in the Development of Driver Assistance Systems at the Institute for Automotive Engineering. Wimmershoff holds a Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering Technology from RWTH Aachen University, complemented by a Master of Engineering and a first state examination in vehicle engineering from the same institution.
