Alex Seyoum is an experienced leader in firmware engineering, currently serving as Director of Firmware Engineering at Zoox since February 2022. Previously, Alex held key positions including VP of Digital Signal Processing and Modem Firmware Engineering at Impinj, and Senior Manager of 5G/LTE Modem Firmware Development at Apple. With extensive expertise in high-volume modem commercialization from the tenure at Intel Corporation as Senior Director, Alex contributed to the development of multiple generations of Intel modems and played a crucial role in 5G firmware architecture design. Additional experience includes firmware development at Broadcom and Nokia Mobile Phone, with a strong foundation in DSP firmware development. Alex holds both a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University.
