Vladimir Z. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of engineering and technology. Vladimir is currently working at Zip Co as an Engineering Manager, specifically focusing on migrations. Prior to that, they were employed at Data Republic, where they held the position of Head of Platform Engineering and Senior DevOps Engineer.

Before their time at Data Republic, Vladimir worked at Nasdaq for almost a decade as a Lead Systems Engineer and Infrastructure SME. Their role involved managing all aspects of infrastructure and tools for a Product Development Business Unit, as well as serving as a customer-facing infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software delivery projects. Vladimir was responsible for full-stack operations of environments and tooling in both cloud and on-prem deployments.

Prior to Nasdaq, Vladimir worked at MassMedia Studios as a Systems Administrator, where they handled the operations and continuous improvement of Production and QA infrastructure for Traction Digital marketing platforms. This role required expertise in Linux, Oracle DB, Oracle Application Server, virtualization, storage, networking, backup, and monitoring.

In their earlier years, Vladimir worked at IT Company. Southern branch as a Senior Engineer. Their responsibilities included providing 2/3 layer support, field engineering for outsourcing projects, and managing various technologies such as Unix (Sun Solaris, FreeBSD), networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper Networks), Oracle, MySQL, Apache, DNS, and mail.

Beginning their career, Vladimir worked at Uralsib as a Principal Engineer, where they gained valuable experience before transitioning into higher-level roles.

Throughout their work experience, Vladimir has demonstrated a strong technical expertise in various areas of engineering, infrastructure management, DevOps, and migrations.

Vladimir Z. obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Systems Engineering in IT from Kuban State University of Technology (KubSUT) between 1997 and 2002. Vladimir then pursued further education and completed a Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Project Management from Charles Sturt University from 2013 to 2015. Following this, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management, Computing from Charles Sturt University, which they completed between 2015 and 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Vladimir Z. has also obtained several certifications. Vladimir became an AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2023. In November 2021, they earned the CKS: Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist certification from The Linux Foundation. In May 2021, they became certified as an AWS Certified Security – Specialty and a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), both from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Scrum Alliance, respectively. Prior to that, they obtained the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification from The Linux Foundation in October 2020. Lastly, in July 2018, they attained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services.
