Alex Smith has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Alex started their career as a Web Services Librarian at Wayne State College, where they managed the web presence of the college library and integrated web services. Alex then became a Tenure Track Faculty at Sonoma State University, where they developed PHP mashups and mobile web interfaces.
After that, Alex joined the Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Web Developer and later as a Scientific Applications Software Engineer. At JPL, they worked on bleeding-edge web-based visualization tools and applications, as well as leading a small team of web developers. Alex also had the opportunity to work on interactive projects that utilized innovative technologies.
Currently, Alex is a Principal Data Scientist at Zignal Labs, where they work with a team of Data Scientists to tackle complex challenges at scale. Alex uses novel data visualizations to understand massive datasets and make decisions about algorithms and patterns for classification.
Throughout their career, Alex has demonstrated proficiency in web development, JavaScript, data visualization, and the utilization of cutting-edge technologies.
Alex Smith pursued a Bachelor's degree in Music Business from Chadron State College from 2000 to 2006. Later, from 2006 to 2008, they attended Kent State University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
