Donald Welch has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Donald currently holds the position of Principal Engineer at ZeroEyes, a role they began in July 2022. Prior to this, from June 2018 to July 2022, Donald worked at LO3 Energy as a Software Architect. In this role, they were responsible for architecting, designing, coding, testing, deploying, and supporting SaaS solutions for local energy marketplaces. Donald integrated various technologies such as Blockchain, REST APIs, Docker, AWS, and Python-based web services.

From October 2015 to March 2018, Donald served as a Senior/Lead Full Stack Engineer at SDVI Corporation. Here, they were involved in the design, development, and support of a cloud-based SaaS for the M&E industry, utilizing technologies such as Python, SQLAlchemy, Flask, AWS, and Javascript.

Prior to that, from November 2014 to October 2015, Donald worked at BartonLabs, LLC as an Architect/Lead Developer. Donald was responsible for developing system components for a high-security online document management system deployed on AWS and OpenStack.

Donald also held positions at eBay Inc as a Senior Android Engineer from May 2014 to November 2014, where they developed Android apps for worldwide online commerce. From February 2011 to March 2014, they worked at BartonLabs, LLC/Epoch, Inc as a Senior Software Engineer/Architect, focusing on the architecture, design, and development of a CUDA-based high-performance search engine.

Before that, Donald was the Owner/Developer of Portland Portable Programs from 2009 to 2014. Donald started their career at HP as a Senior R&D Software Engineer in 1995, leading the development of web services, workflow automation, and development tools for HP's inkjet printers. Donald also worked as an Electronics Engineer at the California State Department of Transportation from 1992 to 1995 and as a QA/QC Engineer at NUMMI from 1991 to 1992.

Donald Welch received their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from California State University, Chico, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Prior to that, they attended Enterprise HS from 1982 to 1986, but did not obtain a degree or pursue a specific field of study at that institution. Additionally, Donald has obtained several certifications, including "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyper-parameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning." These certifications were received from Coursera in 2018.
