John Benedict

Deputy Chief of Staff, Department of Defense Senior Information Security Office at Zeneth Technology Partners

John Benedict has a long and varied work experience. In 2021, they are currently Deputy Chief of Staff in the Department of Defense Senior Information Security Office for Zeneth Technology Partners and is transitioning as a Senior Leader for the US Army. From 2018 to 2021, they served as Chief Technology Officer for U.S. Army HQDA G-1, where they were primarily responsible for ensuring HQDA G1/Human Resource Management Domain systems remain compliant with all current/emerging DoD and Army policies and directives. From 2016 to 2018, they were Director of the Defense Visual Information principal operating component of the Defense Media Activity, where they were responsible for the portfolio management for Defense Visual Information capabilities. From 2013 to 2016, they served as J-33 N2C3 Division Chief and J6 Ops Branch Chief for The Joint Staff, where they advised the Director of Operations, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (VCJCS), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), and Office of the Secretary of Defense on Nuclear Command, Control & Communications (NC3) & Joint Command & Control (C2) requirements, plans, policies, governance, and procedures. In 2012, they were a student at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. From 2005 to 2012, they served in various roles for the US Army, including Division G6, 1st Army Division East, Signal LTCs Assignment Officer, US Army HRC, Signal MAJs Assignment Officer, US Army HRC, Brigade S6, 593rd Sustainment Brigade, and Evaluation Officer, C3ED, Army Evaluation Center. From 2001 to 2005, they served as Spectrum Management Officer/TWI Officer, Army CIO/G6 and from 1997 to 2001, they served as Company Commander, C Co, 17th Signal Bn (Germany) and Brigade S6, 69th ADA Brigade (Germany).

John Benedict obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Tech in 1992, majoring in Communication Studies. John then went on to Webster University in 2004, where they earned their Master of Arts degree in Telecommunications Management in 2005. In 2012, they completed their Master of Science degree in Military National Resource Strategy and Policy from Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.
