Jesper Olesen has a diverse work experience in the scientific research field. Jesper started their career as a Study Assistant at the University of Copenhagen in 2009 and later worked as a Research Assistant in Molecular & Integrative Physiology at the same university. In 2010, Jesper became a PhD Fellow at the Molecular & Integrative Physiology Department, where their research focused on exercise physiology and inactivity-induced metabolic dysfunction. Jesper also had an exchange stay at the Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School in 2012. From 2013 to 2014, Jesper worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Molecular & Integrative Physiology Department, continuing their research in exercise physiology. In 2011, they were part of the organizing committee for YIN (Young Investigator Network) Muscle & Fitness. In 2014, Jesper joined Novo Nordisk as a Chemist, where they worked until 2018. Since then, they have been employed at Zealand Pharma, initially as a Drug Product Specialist, and later as a Senior Drug Product Specialist. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Scientist - Late phase development at Zealand Pharma.
Jesper Olesen obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology from the University of Copenhagen in the years 2010-2013. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (M.sc.) in Molecular & Cell Biology at the University of Copenhagen from 2004-2010.
