Tobias Rye Torben has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2013, they worked as a Maintenance worker at MS Havskjer. In 2014, they had a Summer Internship as a Programmer at SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture. In 2016, they again interned as a Programmer at SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture, where they continued their C++ programming work on simulation software. In 2017, Tobias joined Offshore Simulator Centre as a Physics Developer, initially as a summer intern and later continued as a part-time job while being a student. Tobias worked on software development related to hydrodynamics and physics for a large simulation platform. In 2018, they joined the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) as a PHD Candidate, focused on their milliAmpere autonomous ferry project. Tobias worked on this project until 2019 while continuing their PHD studies until 2022. Currently, they are working as a Senior Autonomy Engineer at Zeabuz, starting from August 2022.
Tobias Rye Torben completed their education in a chronological manner. Tobias first attended Spjelkavik VGS from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained a High School degree with a focus on Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Following that, they enrolled in the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where they pursued a Master's Degree in Marine Technology. Tobias studied there from 2013 to 2019. After completing their Master's, Tobias continued their academic journey at the same university, undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Marine Technology from 2019 to 2022.
