Cherese Ledet has a diversified work experience in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Cherese began their career as an Accounting Manager at Culligan International, where they managed a team and handled accounting functions for numerous dealerships. In 2004, they transitioned to the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, where they held various roles including Regional Business Manager and Senior Director of Senior Housing. Cherese supervised cash operations, managed budgets, and ensured compliance with policies and regulations. In 2013, Cherese was promoted to the position of Vice President of Operations and later became the Senior Vice President Operations. Cherese'sresponsibilities included overseeing operations, implementing cost-effective services, and providing leadership to staff. In 2021, they assumed the role of Chief Community Development and Equity Officer, focusing on community initiatives and promoting equity within the organization. Cherese's extensive experience and leadership skills led their to their current role as President and CEO of YWCA Evanston/North Shore, where they continue to make a significant impact.
Cherese Ledet, HCM-H completed their education at Chicago State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1996. In addition to their formal education, they have acquired several certifications and qualifications throughout their career. Cherese obtained a certification in Leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Northwestern University - Weingberg College of Arts and Sciences in October 2022. In April 2022, they also obtained a certification as a Vitality Cafe Host from Be Strong Families. Earlier in their career, in January 2008, they received a certification as a Housing Compliance Manager from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
