Richard Michaud has over 30 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Richard started their career at Citibank, where they worked as a Programmer and later as a Consultant, Senior Developer, and DBA in the Private Banking Group. Richard then joined Dialogic/Intel Corporation as a Manager, leading the database support and administration team. Richard also worked at Cirqit.com as a Consultant, Senior Developer, and DBA, managing database administration and fault-tolerance solutions. Richard continued their career at the Schering-Plough Research Institute as a Consultant, overseeing database migration and replication projects. Richard then joined Oracle, where they held several positions, including Principal Sales Consultant, Oracle Enterprise Architect, and Master Principal Sales Consultant/Oracle Enterprise Architect. During their time at Oracle, they focused on technology strategy, architecture initiatives, and customer enablement. In 2018, Richard joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Solution Architect and later became a Solutions Architecture Manager, leading a team and improving the onboarding experience for newly hired architects. Currently, Richard is working at Yugabyte as the Director of Solution Engineering for the East region.

Richard Michaud attended The George Washington University from 1986 to 1989, with a focus on Pre-Med and Liberal Arts. Prior to that, they studied at the International School of Brussels from 1983 to 1986. In addition to their formal education, Richard has obtained several certifications, including AWS certifications in 2018, 2020, and 2021, as well as a YugabyteDB certification in 2022.
